Academics → Report Cards 

• Details:   Trimester 1 is complete and report cards will be sent home on Wednesday, November 15. Thank you for all of your support this trimester. Parents at Leading Edge do a wonderful job checking Schoology, staying up to date, and providing academic support at home. We look forward to continuing that success in Trimester 2. 

High School Information → No Action Required for CECA and IB Recommendations  

• Details: Our staff will take care of CECA and IB teacher recommendations for all students, you do not need to request them. In December, homeroom teachers will have 8th grade students indicate which programs they are applying to. Our staff will then complete the recommendations.  Admin coordinates with the CECA and IB programs to ensure all LE students have their materials in correctly.

2024-25 Applications NOW Open

Applications for the coming 2024-25 school year opened on Wednesday, November 1st. To be considered in the lottery applications must be submitted by January 12th at 4pm. Upcoming dates and details can be found at https://www.natomascharter.org/app 

Word of mouth is the most common way families hear about our school, so please feel free to spread the word! If your child is currently enrolled in 5th grade at Star Academy, 8th grade at Leading Edge, or 8th grade at PACT and you would like them to remain at Natomas Charter School you will need to submit an application for the coming school year. 

Attendance Matters - Please Bring Your Students to School

Last school year, 7% of Natomas Charter School students were chronically absent. That means they missed more than 10% of the school year due to excused and unexcused absences. While significantly lower than many of the surrounding schools and districts, this is nearly three times higher than our chronic absenteeism rate before the pandemic. Students who are chronically absent fall behind their peers in terms of academic performance because they are missing classroom instruction. Please bring your students to school unless they are significantly ill. This chart from the California Department of Public Health provides a concise overview for when to bring your student to school. 

NCS Parents United Meeting 11/14 6:00 -7:00 p.m. 

The NCS Parents United (formerly English Learner Advisory Committee ELAC) invites you to join us on Tuesday, November 14th from 6:00-7:00. Families with children are welcome and we will have food! Come to connect with other parents and learn about how to support your student’s literacy at home. 

We will meet on the Star Academy campus (4004 Gloster Way)  in the Library at 6:00 p.m. Please RSVP at this link and request translation if needed.
