These 6th graders have grown so much this year. They are ready to step up in 7th grade and begin to be the leaders of our school. Thank you to Mrs. Sanchez, Mrs. Bibayoff, Mr. Guzman, and Mr. Shane for your work with this groovy group.
Our community came out in force to support educators this week. From coffee to notes to giftcards, it seems like everyone got a little love.
Portfolios are a rite of passage at Leading Edge. Our students stepped up and did a tremendous job. Special thanks to Ms. LaChapelle for coordinating the process and ensuring students and staff were prepared. You rock!

As we prepare for the 2023-24 school year, we are excited to announce two schoolwide leadership transitions. Petra Luhrsen will be joining our school in the coming year as our Student Services Director. Petra is currently a principal in the San Juan USD and a former Star Academy teacher. Amy Kahler will be stepping into our Special Education Director role. Amy is currently the Star Academy Principal and has been both a teacher and administrator at NCS since 2013. The Star Academy Principal position has been posted on EdJoin and we look forward to filling it as soon as possible. If you have anyone you know who would be interested in the position. The entire administrative team and Amy Kahler will be working with Franchesca Donato and the incoming principal to ensure a smooth transition for Star families, staff and the community.
Both Uber and Lyft have policies which prevent unaccompanied minors from riding in vehicles without an 18-year-old who is supervising them. As a result, students should NOT be picked up by Uber and Lyft drivers. These individuals are considered strangers and we appreciate families speaking to their children about the importance of not getting into cars with unknown adults. Students are to be picked up by parents/guardians or other adults listed as having pick up authorization.
