As the temperatures are warming, please take a few minutes to review the NCS Dress Expectations from our student handbooks. In summary, Clothing must cover areas from one armpit across to the other armpit, down to approximately 3 to 4 inches inseam length on the upper thighs. All shirts must have sleeves or shoulder straps.Undergarments should not be visible and all shoes must have a strap around the heel for safety. Flipflops and slides are not permitted to be worn at school. Students not meeting the school’s dress expectations will be asked to call home for additional attire.
This week the California Department of Education released the first charter school performance ranking since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. NCS is pleased to share that our school was given the “high performing” designation based on our California School Dashboard results. This is reflective of the extensive work our school has implemented to support students throughout the pandemic While we still have more work to do, especially around absenteeism and math, we appreciate all our teachers, staff, and community have done to support our students the past four years. Special shout out to the families who are helping us tackle chronic absenteeism by ensuring your students are regularly attending school.
