Did you know that Natomas USD was recently ranked the most diverse school district in California and the second most diverse school district in the nation (read more here)? Natomas Charter School is proud to be part of such a diverse community. Students who identify as more than one race actually make up one of our largest demographic groups on campus. We hope you will join us at one of our upcoming cultural events to celebrate the richness of our community.
This weekend marks Lunar New Year for many Asian cultures. During the next few weeks, students will be learning about Lunar New Year and its connection to traditions in many Asian countries. On the Blackrock campus, our Mandarin and dance students will be hosting a Lunar New Year celebration at lunch on February 15th to celebrate the Year of the Dragon.
Natomas USD, in collaboration with Natomas Charter, Westlake Charter, and NP3, is hosting a student conference in support and celebration of our LGTBQ+ youth on Saturday, March 23rd from 11:00 am - 3:00 pm. The event will feature food, student performances, a student panel, and an insightful conversation with PFAA teacher Jeff Pollard regarding the history of LGBTQ+ movement within the United States.
