Details: Educator Appreciation Week is right around the corner. This is a wonderful time to send teachers and staff a note of appreciation for supporting your students. Parent groups in each of our academies are organizing a variety of events and we deeply appreciate their commitment to celebrating the committed educators on our campuses.
This coming Thursday is the Big Day of Giving, a community wide opportunity to support the non-profits you love including the Natomas Arts and Education Foundation (NAEF). NAEF directly supports Natomas Charter School students by fundraising for art supplies, field trips, technology, and professional performances. This year our goal is to raise $15,000 to support our NCS community. You can learn more about NAEF and donate to our fundraising campaign by clicking here.
With the weather warming up now is a great time to review the Dress Expectations in our academy handbook our academy handbook regarding Dress Expectations (pg. 26). All students need to wear shoes with straps around the back. Shirts must be free from drug, alcohol, and violence references. Undergarments must be covered. Shirts must be designed to meet at or fall below the top of the pants/shorts/skirt.
Thank you to all of our community members who have been sharing our links to openings at NCS for the coming school year. Some of our strongest employee referrals have come from our very own families. All links to openings for the coming school year can be found on our EdJoin page. Please share it widely with your networks.

Manage Your Child's Devices
Middle school students often fall into unhealthy behaviors in groups chats, discord, and on social media. It is our responsibility as parents to teach healthy habits, monitor device, and set appropriate limits. The majority of 11-14 year olds do not have the self-management skills to use cellphones without parent support.
Parents might consider removing cellphones and electronic devices from bedrooms at a set time every night. Doing it by 7:00 p.m. ensures student are able to sleep well.
Show Up if You are Able
You can attend a school event, volunteer on campus, or come by for a brief tour.
Just being present sends a clear message to your student, that you are connected and ready to support
