Our 6th graders had a blast at Marin Headlands. This annual field trip through Nature Bridge provides an excellent opportunity for students to connect with nature and each other, while learning about the environment.
Our SEL curriculum, Character Strong, gives kids a chance to talk about challenging issues, build confidence in their abilities, and learn important social and emotional skills. Mr. Baumgartner demonstrates a warm-up discussion in this clip.

We have a goal of raising $2,000 to offset the costs of next year's trips.

At Natomas Charter School we are proud to have a robust team of counselors and school psychologists focused on supporting all students with building strong social-emotional skills and academic learning while at school. As a school, we do not provide ongoing individualized therapy, but as a parent, you may need assistance supporting your child with generalized anxiety, depression, or other behaviors outside of school. At NCS we have two free resources all families can access to support their child’s mental health needs.
Cal HOPE: Provides free, online counseling (BrightLife Kids and Soluna) for children up to age 25.
CareSolace: A mental health concierge that connects families with mental health providers in our area based on your health insurance and specific needs. To access CareSolace visit https://www.caresolace.com/site/ncs or call 888-515-0595 available 24/7/365 in any language.
February is Black History Month and we are kicking off things with a Family Night Mixer hosted by our Black Student Union (BSU) student leaders and faculty mentors. Join us on February 1st at 5:30 pm in the Blackrock Campus amphitheater and MPR. This is a great opportunity to support our BSU students and meet the team. All community members are welcome!
This coming spring join us for African American Family Network meetings. These monthly events are a collaboration between Natomas Charter School families and staff with a focus on supporting students who identify as members of the African American community. The first AAFN meeting will be on February 8th at 6:15 pm in the LMC on the Blackrock campus. All community members are welcome! Click here for more information about AAFN.
Thank you to everyone who came to one of the district facility meetings this month.
