Come stop by the multicultural night for some fun and community!
Our WEB students pitched in a little more this week, cleaning up trash on campus and setting an example for other students.
Our 8th graders are never too old for some games. Homeroom is the place where social emotional learning takes center stage and students learn how to manage... their emotions!

At the end of every year, we have many opportunities for volunteers to support our community, connect with students and ensure we have the capacity to make the end of the year memorable for students and staff. Click on the link below and sign-up for field lessons, 8th grade promotion, 8th grade bunch, teacher appreciation week, and much more.
Every year we have volunteers from the community sit on student portfolio panels. If you or someone you know would like to support Leading Edge and experience the culminating project for our students, then please sign-up to participate.
Join the NCS community and Natomas Arts & Education Foundation as we celebrate the diversity of our community. All NCS families are welcome to attend and encouraged to dress in their cultural attire. Booths representing a variety of cultures and hosted by NCS families will be on site, as well as student dance performances, live music, cultural activities and crafts, and food.

Historically, many of our teachers and staff have been referred to our school through families, students, and colleagues already connected with Natomas Charter School. Ensuring we have fully qualified and diverse educators across our organization takes the entire community. If you know anyone who is interested in joining our school we are hosting a regional charter school collaborative job fair on Saturday April 1st at Star Academy from 10:00 am - 1:00 pm. More details about the job fair can be found on our school Facebook page. Please share the details widely with your networks.
Thank you to all of the families who have taken a few minutes to check in with teachers and staff regarding yesterday’s lockdown at the Star Academy and Blackrock campuses. Student and staff safety is our first priority. We know that hearing any potential violence near school campuses creates anxiety for all of us. Just like all schools, we review safety procedures with local law enforcement, conduct drills, and talk through scenarios with students. When you hear of a lockdown on a school campus here is how you can help.
Wait for Communication: We recognize that families may be eager to call the front office to ask questions. However, our focus will be on keeping students and staff safe. Excess calls to the front office may also prevent law enforcement from contacting the school in a timely manner. As soon as we can send out information we will send it out directly to every family.
Stay Away from Campus: We recognize that you may want to immediately pick up your student. However, during a lockdown we do not release any students until law enforcement gives us the all clear. Additionally, depending on the type of incident you may be hindering law enforcement’s ability to access campus.
Avoid Communicating with Your Student: We recognize that you may want to call/text your student. During an incident we need students to be able to focus on the educators in the room providing direction. Calling/texting your student disrupts the adult’s ability to provide direction and keep students safe.
Many of our students have unhealthy habits with technology. The impact is real. Interactions with social media, youtube, and video games add up. We are seeing students with 7-8 hours of cell phone screen time daily. Check out the resources below and see what you can do at home to support healthy habits with smartphones!
