Here are some staff highlights from the year! As we enter the second half of the year, I encourage parents and guardians to find meaningful ways, both big and small, to support our educators. This dedicated team works hard to support our students every day.

January 31: World Culture Bowl (3:00 p.m.)

February 14 - February 18: Presidents Day Weekend | No School
February 28: End of Trimester 2
Overview: We assess students in reading and math using iReady in both the fall and winter. These assessments provide valuable insights into their progress toward grade-level standards. Please encourage your child to do their best and demonstrate what they know.
You can support their preparation by ensuring they complete their iReady My Path assignments in both math and reading. Scores will be sent home via email the week after testing is completed
Overview: Every year, our 6th graders host an exciting celebration of Chinese culture! This project explores history, art, and modern-day traditions, culminating in a vibrant campus parade featuring dragons, dancers, and more. If you’d like to attend, please check in at the school office to receive a visitor’s badge. You’re welcome to sit in the amphitheater until the students begin the parade.

Natomas Charter School PFAA and ECA
Applications are closed for NCS
Inderkum IB and CECA
We work closely with IB and CECA to complete the recommendations process. Parents and students do not need to request recommendations, as we will communicate directly with IB and CECA about student readiness. We encourage students to apply to both programs.
Overview: LLEAP continues to support a wide range of school activities. This year, they’ve donated to field trips, purchased equipment for recess and activities, and provided numerous volunteers for events. We encourage you to get involved—whether in small or big ways—to help ensure our students have the resources they need.

Natomas Charter School is proud to serve students in one of the most diverse school districts in the nation. This includes students who may be undocumented or are part of families with mixed immigration status. California law and the Plyler v. Doe (1982) Supreme Court decision affirms that all children have the right to a free public education, regardless of immigration status. In light of the new Federal Executive Orders related to immigration, along with schools throughout our district, NCS continues to reiterate our commitment to serving all students in the community. Natomas Charter School does not collect nor maintain any information regarding a student’s immigration status. This week the Governor’s Office established a website that provides immigration-related resources for families throughout the state.
