The Ruby Bridges Walk to School Day was an awesome opportunity to remember the impact that one person can make... even a brave six year old! We heard about the history of Ruby Bridges and then walked to school with purpose!
Many students were recognized for their excellence in our academy pillars at the Trimester 1 Pillar Awards. Our pillars are the foundation for our curriculum and program. As students travel through Leading Edge, they develop a deep knowledge of each on.

Chronic absenteeism is impacting all schools across the United States. While better than many schools in our area, at NCS our chronic absenteeism rates are still three times higher than before the pandemic. Students are identified as chronically absent when they miss more than 10% or 18 days of the year for any reason. Extensive research demonstrates students who are chronically absent fall behind in both academic and social-emotional learning. This chart from the California Department of Public Health provides a concise overview for when to bring your student to school or keep them home for illnesses. Our school sends out letters when your student has missed 5, 10, and 15 days of school. These notices are sent out so that you are aware of your student’s current level of absenteeism.
