A predator will change their appearance online and engage children in conversation. This then develops to sharing images or joining video calls. Communications are tailored to match the conversation they are in and manipulate the child into believing they are talking to someone their age. At the point they share images back, they are blackmailed, this is referred to as sextortion.
"Sharenting": The term ‘sharenting’ is a combination of the words ‘parenting’ and ‘sharing’ and is used to describe the practice of parents regularly sharing information, photos and videos about their children on social media and other online platforms.
A video from Ireland's Data Protection Comminssion
Increasingly, organisations are under threat of experiencing a cyber incident. Schools are no different; it is your responsibility to ensure that you have taken all reasonable precautions to ensure that your data is protected.
The initial part of the support is the precautionary steps which your school can take to minimise the effects of a cyber incident.
There is also access to a plan template, which can be downloaded and completed, along with access to some staff training to develop your staff's understanding of cyber safety.
This document has been created using the guidance available on the Hwb platform.
Support and guidance in the steps your school needs to take to have the procedures in place to achieve the 360Safe Cymru award. These can begin to be implemented at the start of the school year, as this will usually be when schools create their student/school committees.
Ensure staff are not leaving their passwords by/on their devices (yes, they are still being written on post-it notes!)
Devices need to be rebooted (turned on and off) to allow security updates
When leaving a room, ensure staff lock their computer (Windows Key and 'L'), an increasing number of Cyber Incidents are a result of learners 'hacking' their own school
All USB sticks should be encrypted, alternatively, make use of secure online cloud storage
When printing to the school network printer, use a code to print off or ensure sensitive material is not left to be collected later in the day
Shred any confidential waste
Schools should make provision for supply staff to access work that has been left; they should not be required to log in as the staff member they are covering.
An introduction to the AI tools in Adobe Express - Available for staff and learners
How to use Google's NotebookLM - Available for staff only

How to use Gems and Agents to support repeated tasks in Gemini and Copilot - Staff only
This page will guide you through the AI tools available in Adobe Express and provide some examples of how this can be integrated into your pedagogy.
iOS 26 on an iPad provides an increased number of accessibility features to learners, from using Eye Tracking and Vocal Shortcuts, to adjusting text size and colour overlays.
An iPad now allows users to hear audio descriptions and many more.
Schools are required to have a DPIA for the applications they use, which have access to Data. This page will support how you could create an AI Agent/Gem to create your first draft.
NB. You will need to check what is produced by the AI for bias and hallucinations
When completing your DPIAs, your school should be able to identify which applications you use that you can turn Multi-Factor Authentication on.
This provides an additional level of security to applications which can often hold sensitive information.
This page has links to Apple's Online training to enable you to become an Apple Teacher. If you use iPads or Macs in your pedagogy, these courses will show you how to make effective use of your devices to manage your learners, and explain the potential your Apple applications have and how they can be used in the classroom.
