Regardless of the AI tool which you choose to make use of, understanding how AI works will support you in making effective use of it.
Teachers are looking at how the use of AI can be used to gain back time!
The prompt is the information from the AI tool to generate the response.
The more information the AI has to work with the more detailed the generated response will be. So...
What you get out is only as good as what you put in.
You will most likely have heard of ChatGPT, this is from a company called OpenAI. Numerous other companies use ChatGPT 'in the background' of their AI apps.
Those you may have heard of include Canva, Teachmate and Suno to name but a few.
These apps have been developed to support users for specific tasks; for example, Canva will generate presentations based on the prompt used.
NB. Please always remember not to add any identifying information to your prompts!!
You can access Microsoft's Support programmes by searching for 'Learn Microsoft' or clicking on the link below.
You can use your HwbCymru account to login and record your progress.
Unfortunately, your HwbCymru account will not work, however, you can create a personal Gmail account, which will allow you to complete Google's training.
Your prompt is what the AI uses to assess what you want it to create for you.
Several acronyms are in circulation for how prompts should be developed. These all break down to
Specific- Explain what you want to create (a letter, series of lessons etc.)
Context- Explain who; what you are creating is for (for parents, for pupils aged 6 etc.) You could add background experiences which are being built upon
Background- Provide additional guidance to support the AI, (parents have previously been informed that..., learners are from a rural community and know about...)
Tone/Accuracy- Set parameters for what is produced (a stern/friendly tone of letter, use only information from verified sources*)
Additional- In some examples of what you ask, it may be appropriate to ask your AI to be aware of bias and remove it from the result it provides you.
*Your AI apps will often give you reference points for where information has been from

Learners could make use of Adobe Express to generate their own characters, which merge animals and objects.
The prompt used - a cappuccino cup anthropomorphised with a ballerina, the cup should have a face and arms and legs
There are over 100 characters to recreate; this activity can support the understanding of Prompt writing and adaptation of prompts to improve the outcome generated.
