Activate: 

1. Tutor to provide an example of a presentation with good structure and bad structure. learners to work in pairs and discuss the pros and cons of both.

• tutor to lead session around:

  • Drafting the structure of the presentation

  • impact of both good and bad presentation structure

  • Animations

  • Adding music/ videos

  • Adding Images

  • Use of colour

Introduce learning aims 

Activate: 

1. 2 groups - small group discussions about presentation notes and why they are important.

2. tutor to explain the importance of presentation notes:

   1. To remind presenter of the content and key points

   2. Help the presenter stay on track

   3. Helps the presenter recognise what is coming next.

   4. Helps the presenter appear more convincing and shows an understanding of the topic

   5. Ways to present these - Index cards, powerpoint handouts, sheets of paper, story board.

3. Group discussion around the importance of practising presentations and making necessary amendments.

   1. Allows the presenter to practise and improve speaking allowed

   2. Different techniques - use a mirror, record yourself talking, read through the information to ensure full understanding, read to another person and ask for feedback which can inform adaptations.

1. Preparing to presentation for delivery with a group discussion around strategies to prepare for a presentation ready for delivery:

• Include - loading up presentations on different IT machines

• Loading up using different programmes to ensure presentation flows smoothly 

• For example: Powerpoint - google slides etc

• Internet connectivity is suitable for streaming videos or media within a presentation.
