INTENT

In Year 9, learners focus on understanding how the United Kingdom is governed, exploring the roles and functions of local, regional, and national government. They examine issues of equality and social justice, investigate migration and global movement, and develop financial literacy skills. Pupils also explore the impact of digital democracy on political participation and consider how young people can actively engage in democratic processes.
