Peek in a Week

Good Morning! Today is A-Day and we have PE. How was your weekend? Did your family do something special to celebrate Memorial Day? If we were in school we would have had a big assembly to honor soldiers who lost their lives fighting in war. Blow is your work for the day.

Reading-

First, log onto Pearson Realize and read Alexander Graham Bell

Next, complete Journal- short answer on Pearson Realize.

Question: Look back at the Story. Alexander Graham Bell: A Great Inventor

Look back at the selection. What was Aleck Bell like when he was a boy?

(Students do not need to type. Students can explain their answer verbally and parents should type their response. Use details from the text to support your thinking)

Last, Listen and watch the storybook come to life with Miss Nelson Has a Field Day!

Writing-

First, review nouns and common nouns by watching the video

Then, complete IXL FF4

Last, (2 day Activity due Thursday) Students will choose either Miss Swamp or Miss Nelson to create a Wanted Poster. Be sure to add character traits and lots of adjectives to help find the “Wanted” person. Complete the 2 day assignment for Wanted Poster by sending a picture of you holding up your poster.

Phonics-

First listen to my video where I go over the aw/au sound.

Then, complete Reader’s and Writer’s notebook page 574 .

Last, glue lists into your read reading journal . Then read aloud aw words and sentences. Highlight the aw words in the sentences.

Poetry-(2 days assignment due Wednesday)-We will look for aw/au words in our poem. Print/copy poem into Purple Poetry journal. Highlight all the aw/au words, write the aw/au words in the box and illustrate a picture to go along with it.

(You do NOT have to do the Context Clues section of this worksheet. It will be assigned another day! )

Math- Log into pearsonsuccessnet.com to complete the math assignment. We are starting Topic 19. Do lesson 19 lesson 1. Please watch the video, do the guided practice and take the quiz. Don’t skip any of the parts! Do the workbook page along with lesson 19-1 .

Spelling- Write your spelling words in funky handwriting one time each. It can be bubble letters, block letters, rainbow colors. You can pick!

Science- Watch video on animals defenses
