Good Morning! Today is C-Day and we have Library. Did you enjoy watching Miss Nelson is Missing? It is one of my favorite books to share with my first graders! There is a fun project at the bottom of the page today where you can design a new disguise for Miss Nelson. If you do this, send me your pictures to be featured on our page tomorrow! Below is your work for the day.

Reading

First Log onto Pearson Realize and read Simple Machines.

Next complete Journal- short answer on Pearson Realize.

Question: Look back at the Story. What are Simple Machines? Name 4 kinds of simple machines. (Students do not need to type. Students can explain their answer verbally and parents should type their response. Use details from the text to support your thinking)

Last, log onto EPIC and read a teacher suggested book. If you don’t have any please pick a book of your choice. Log it in your reading log.

Phonics- read aloud Roy and Joyce Join In Keep Book 28A Highlight all the oy/oi words. (If you can not print, make a list of the oy/oi words as you read.)

Next log onto Pearson Realize and complete Reader’s and Writer’s notebook page 565.

Writing- (2 Day assignment-due Wednesday) Compare and Contrast Miss Nelson’s class in room 207 to our class.

Then cut out and sort character traits to match Miss Nelson and Miss Swamp (see Monday's work for worksheets)

Last, Watch Grammar Jammer- Pronouns and complete reader’s and Writer’s notebook page 559.

Math- Miss Nelson Word Problems and Subtraction color code.

Social Studies- Read assigned EPIC book on Memorial Day.
