Writing (2 day assignment) - Listen to the video I have posted above about my spring break. You will have today and tomorrow to work on your spring break news. Using the weekend news paper, write about three things you did this weekend, making sure to include adjectives to make your writing more descriptive. Highlight the adjectives so they stand out in your story. Make sure to have an opening sentence, transitional words, closing sentence, capital letters, and punctuation.
Pearson Reading-
First, listen to me read Peter's Chair. Click on the video to the left. Please make sure an adult is working with you so you can stop the video to answer my questions.
Next, log onto Pearson realize and re-read Peter's Chair once to yourself.
Last, read for 10 minutes a book of your choice and log it into Reading log.
Phonics
First, listen to my video as I introduce the sound cards with the new phonics focus for the week /ew/ /ui/ /ue/
Next (2 days assignment due Wednesday)- Print or copy the poem onto a piece of paper. Then read the poem The Plane Flew in the Stew. Cut out poem and glue it in the Purple Poetry journal. Students will look for words with the ui/ue/ew sound. Students should highlight /ui/ue/ew/ words and illustrate a picture to go along with it.

Word Wall Words- introduce this week’s word wall words. (Found in the Peek at the week) Practice writing them in the sky with your finger as you say the word and letters out loud. Then write them 3x’s each for practice in the word wall word journal.
Math- Topic 15.1 Log into pearsonsuccessnet.com to complete the math assignment. It is topic 15 lesson 1. Please watch the video, do the guided practice and take the quiz. Don’t skip any of the parts! Then complete the workbook page that goes with lesson 15.1.
