Reading- First log onto Pearson Realize and re-read A Southern Ranch.

ReadingWriting- Next Respond in writing.

1. Explain how ranch hands keep the herd together. (Look back and reread page 136-141. )

Last, read a book of your choice for 10 minutes and add it to your reading log.

Phonics- First log onto IXL and complete the Long i/short i picture match. (It will be assigned to you the same way Math has been assigned.)

Next, complete readers and Writers Notebook page 462

Last, print or copy your long i words into your red journal. Read long i words spelled /ie/ /i-e/ /igh/

(optional) The weather is calling for some sunshine...finally! :) Take your chalk or just a paint brush and water, and pretend to paint your words with water or write them with chalk. Be creative and enjoy the weather with some of your long i words.

Spelling- Choose 5 spelling words and write them in sentences. Remember to include adjectives!

Math- (Topic 14-12) Log into pearsonsuccessnet.com to complete the math assignment. It is topic 14 lesson12. Please watch the video, do the guided practice and take the quiz. Don’t skip any of the parts! Then go to your math workbook and do lesson 14-12.

Social Studies-

Students will read from the magazine Holidays.

Read student magazine Lesson 2 called President’s Day.

Then, ask your child the following question: What is the purpose of Presidents day?
