A Peek in the Week- week 2

Happy Monday first grade friends! Today is B-Day. We have Spanish. I hope you had a great weekend. Were you able to get outside? My family and I went for 3 walks! We are starting our second week of online learning. Below is the work that you must complete today!

Writing- Listen to the video I have posted above on weekend news. Visit brainpop junior to review adjectives.(You do not need to listen to the part about adverbs!) Using the weekend news paper, write about three things you did this weekend, making sure to include adjectives to make your writing more descriptive. Highlight the adjectives so they stand out in your story. Make sure to have an opening sentence, transitional words, closing sentence, capital letters, and punctuation.

Reading- (Fairy tales continued)

First- Listen to The Three Little Pigs story.

Then - Log onto Pearson Realize. Read aloud A Trip to Washington D.C. with an adult. Then read it by yourself. Make sure to point along using your finger and track your reading.

Last- read a book of your choice and read for 10 minutes. Record it in the Daily Reading Log

Word Wall Words- introduce this week’s word wall words. (Found in the Peek at the week) Practice writing them in the sky with your finger as you say the word and letters out loud. Then write them 3x’s each for practice in the word wall word journal.

Phonics- watch video of long o and type up your spelling words and email them to me. (Spelling words also found in the Peek at the week)

Math- (Topic 14-5) Log into pearsonsuccessnet.com to complete the math assignment. It is topic 14 lesson 5. Please watch the video, do the guided practice and take the quiz. Don’t skip any of the parts! Next log into IXL and complete the teacher suggested activities.
