Position Description: The Christian Mission provides volunteer opportunities for individuals, families, and groups. Opportunities include:
Pantry Assistant / Personal Shopper - The Pantry Assistant / Personal Shopper supports the daily operations of the food pantry. This role is essential in ensuring that food is organized and distributed efficiently and respectfully to clients. Job duties include assisting clients with shopping with the client and accompanying them to provide guidance, clean, organize, & stock the pantry, and discard expired foods. The ideal volunteer is compassionate, reliable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Resource Store Associate - The Resource Store Associate supports the daily operations of the store. This role is essential in that inventory is stocked & checked out accurately. Job duties include assisting clients with finding items / sizes, restock, scan barcodes at check out, and keep store clean. The ideal volunteer can pay attention to detail, is organized, has great communication and basic computer skills.
Warehouse Donation Receiver - Loading Dock The Warehouse Donation Receiver is responsible for accepting and organizing incoming donations. Ensuring all donated items are handled with care and directed to the appropriate areas for further sorting. The Warehouse Donation Receiver plays a key part in maintaining a positive donor experience and supporting our mission. Job duties include greeting donors in a friendly and professional manner, accept and unload donations from vehicles safely, follow safety procedures and lifting guidelines when handling donations, thanking donors and providing donation receipts when needed, and maintaining cleanliness of warehouse. The ideal volunteer is friendly, respectful, and professional with donors, able to handle donor questions or concerns with a positive attitude, comfortable working on their feet and in various weather conditions, and adheres to safety procedures.
Donated Goods Sorter - The Donated Goods Sorter is a reliable and detail-oriented individual. This role is essential to our mission of supporting community needs through donated items. The Donated Goods Sorter is responsible for inspecting, categorizing, and preparing donated goods for the Resource Store, recycling, or disposal. Job duties include accepting donations and inspecting them for quality, condition, and suitability for redistribution, preparing items that are not suitable for recycling or discarding in accordance with established procedures, preparing sorted goods and providing to Resource store, and keeping area clean & tidy. The ideal volunteer can quickly assess the condition of donations (what’s usable, recyclable, or trash), efficient in categorizing and labeling items (e.g., clothing, electronics, books), keeps sorting area clean and organized.
Grocery Store Pickup Driver - The Grocery Store Pickup Driver is a dependable and caring individual that supports our mission by picking up donated groceries from local stores and delivering them to our warehouse. Job duties include picking up groceries from assigned grocery stores, load and unload food items safely and securely, communicating promptly about changes or delays. The ideal volunteer is reliable, punctual, and is a safe driver that holds a valid driver’s license and follows safety protocols.
Parking Attendant - The Parking Attendant is responsible in creating a safe, efficient, and welcoming parking experience for all. Job duties include directing traffic and assisting with orderly parking, ensuring traffic moves smoothly during service hours, serving as the first point of contact, helping set a positive tone, and monitoring the parking lot for safety and reporting any incidents. The ideal volunteer has a friendly demeanor, ability to stand and move for extended periods, and comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
