Position: Student Performance Data Manager
Location: Charlotte, NC
(Hybrid-some meetings onsite, but much of the data work and preparation of presentations can be completed remotely)
Position Description:
Charlotte Lab School is seeking a volunteer intern for a short-term project to help our school develop systems for tracking student progress. Although initially offered as a short-term opportunity, there is a possibility for a long-term internship or employment. We are also open to working with a team of interns.
THE ROLE The Student Performance Data Manager will work closely with our Senior Leadership Team to help us develop a spreadsheet-based dashboard that will allow our team to closely track metrics relevant to student performance and our organizational goals. Metrics will include standardized test performance, interim test performance, demographic data, college acceptance and attendance rates, and scholarship awards. Responsibilities will include building a database, consolidating data from multiple sources, inputting additional data, and utilizing formulas in Google sheets to push data to a central spreadsheet-based dashboard.
Qualifications
Candidate MUST:
Be able/willing to learn how to fulfill the responsibilities listed above;
Have strong skills in Excel and/or Google Sheets;
Demonstrate experience in, or passion for, working with diverse populations;
Have the ability to come onsite (2045 Suttle Avenue) for occasional in-person meetings;
Be willing to complete required paperwork necessary for access to student data;
Maintain confidentiality of all data accessed through the role.
In addition, the Lab Leadership Team will look favorably upon candidates who:
Are self-starters, self-motivated, and take initiative to ask questions;
Have some experience working in a school, care-giving, or non-profit organization;
Have completed coursework in education, sociology, or anthropology, or similar field;
Have research and/or data collection experience.

Position: Arrival + Dismissal Carpool Volunteer
Position Description: Work at an assigned spot to direct traffic flow - depending on assignment this might be pedestrian traffic, car traffic, or bus traffic. Alternately, it might be in the car rider line, managing students who are waiting for their car to pull up.
Minimum age: 21 years old
