Position: Reading Adventure Captains
Location: Charlotte, NC
Position Summary: Volunteers will lead interactive reading activities during our Reading Treasure Hunt, held alongside free community tax preparation events. These are meaningful, hands-on opportunities for your students to build experience while making a direct impact with elementary-aged children.

Position: LEARN Works Regular Weekly Volunteering at Davidson Site
Location: Davidson, NC
Position Summary: Help our instructors help our students progress towards grade level reading by tutoring, mentoring, and helping ensure our students are safely connected back with their families at the end of the program time. Roles include Classroom Tutor Mentors, Queen City Readers Tutors, Operations & Enrichment Assistant Volunteers, and Dismissal Attendants. In the application, select the roles that interest you and the days you're available to serve the role's entire shift.
Required Qualifications:
Fluent in the English language (speaking, reading and writing)
At least 16 years old
This service cannot be used for court mandated community service.
Must be willing to complete a background check
Time Commitment:
Regular weekly commitment 2x a week
Mon.-Fri.
Training: Training date for approved new volunteers is Tues., Sept. 9th or 23rd, 5-6pm.

Position: Healthy Initiatives/Food Pantry Volunteer
Location: Davidson, NC
Position Summary: Volunteer opportunity to help prepare/serve sandwiches and simple sides for LEARN Works students on Thursday afternoons beginning Jan 22nd.
Hours: 2:30- 4:30pm every Thursday- possibly through Spring.
Will work independently but direction will be provided with staff available to answer questions or assist.
Professional culinary experience not necessary
Admin help to create food label stickers. This could be done remotely. Direction will be provided. Good opportunity for teen/college student!
