The Center for Civic Engagement's Community Opportunities site lists current internship, service, and capacity-building opportunities with nonprofit and community partners in the Greater Charlotte and Lake Norman areas. A variety of opportunities are featured - short-term, long-term, individual, and group projects.

Note that this is not a comprehensive list of the Center’s partners; only a list of currently posted opportunities. To learn about other nonprofit partners and ways to engage, please email civicengagement@davidson.edu or stop by the Center for Civic Engagement in Suite 414 of the Alvarez College Union.

On this site, each partner who is currently listing an opportunity has their own page where you can learn about their organization, read about current opportunities, and see details on how to apply. Opportunities are organized by focus areas that were selected by the organization.  An opportunity may be listed in more than one section.

Not sure where to start? Think about your interests and areas where you want to grow and develop.  Then, explore organizations that focus on those areas and/or skills. A member of the Center for Civic Engagement team can meet with you to talk about opportunities that would be a good match for you and offer strategies to connect with organizations.

Are you a nonprofit or community partner who would like to post an opportunity?  Great! If you have a project, ongoing internship or service opportunity, share it with us. The center publicizes opportunities ranging from introductory service experiences to immersive summer internship programs. We also partner with faculty who incorporate community-based projects into their courses or research. The Center for Civic Engagement is your one-stop shop to communicate opportunities to everyone on Davidson's campus
