Position: Marketing & Development Intern
Position Description:
We are seeking a motivated and passionate Intern to join our team and help spread our message while gaining valuable hands-on experience in the nonprofit sector. The Marketing & Development Intern will work closely with team members to support various initiatives aimed at increasing awareness, engagement, and donations for Rescue Ranch. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop skills in social media, content creation, event promotion, as well as donor and community outreach while contributing to the success of our mission.

Hands-on experience in digital marketing and nonprofit communications
Exposure to a variety of marketing functions, including content creation, social media management, and event promotion

Shadow our animal care and education team
Opportunity to meet volunteers and learn about our volunteer program and its importance to the success of the organization
If possible, attend a Rescue Ranch fundraising or partner event
Responsibilities:
Assist in creating engaging content for social media platforms, including posts, stories, graphics, and videos that highlight our mission, animals and education programs.
Support the planning and promotion of fundraising events, and awareness campaigns.
Help manage and track social media accounts, responding to inquiries, comments, and messages in a timely manner.
Conduct research on market trends, audience preferences, and competitor activities.
Assist with the creation of marketing materials, such as flyers, brochures, and promotional emails.
Grant Writing: Support the development and submission of grant proposals.
Fundraising Support: Assist in researching potential donors, grants, and sponsorship opportunities.
Donor Relations: Help maintain the donor database, process acknowledgments, and prepare donor correspondence.
Event Planning: Support the planning and execution of fundraising events, including logistics, promotion, and volunteer coordination.
Communications: Draft content for newsletters, social media, and fundraising campaigns.
Community Outreach: Assist in building relationships with community partners, businesses and volunteers.
Administrative Tasks: Provide general administrative support, such as preparing reports, scheduling meetings, and organizing materials.
Requirements:
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Must be able to pass a background check.
Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Nonprofit Management, Communications, Marketing, or a related field.
Must have a valid driver's license and have reliable transportation to and from internship.
Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
Proficiency with social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter)
Creative and detail-oriented with the ability to create engaging content.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Self-starter with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast paced environment
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
A passion for animals and/or the desire to learn about the mission of Rescue Ranch.
Must follow Rescue Ranch policies as it relates to dress code and appearance. Must be able to represent the facility in a professional manner, both onsite and offsite.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with content creation and social media management
Basic graphic design skills helpful, but not required (ex: Canva, Adobe Suite, InDesign).
Hands on experience with Google Suite (Google Docs, Slides, Forms and Sheets)
Knowledge of marketing analytics and social media advertising platforms (Facebook Ads, Google Analytics)
Familiarity with video editing or photography.
Compensation and Benefits: Internships are unpaid. Housing and transportation are the responsibility of the intern. Course credit may be available to current college students with intern's institution of study. Participation in the internship program is not a guarantee of future employment.

Duration/Time Commitment: Internship hours will be determined with each intern based on availability and/or schedules. Upon evaluation, interns may be invited to extend their term if opportunity is available. Term start dates are dependent upon your selected orientation date and internship availability. Schedules can/may be flexible to accommodate other educational or employment obligations.

Position(s): Volunteers
Position Description: Whether giving hands-on care and socialization to our animals, assisting with our humane education programs, or helping to make an event successful, YOU can make a difference and help support our mission. Rescue Ranch could not operate without the help of our compassionate and dedicated volunteers!
We currently have over 175 volunteers who donate over 9,000 hours per year. Our volunteers serve on committees, assist with daily animal care, humane education programs, upkeep of our grounds, nature trail, off site booth events, seasonal décor and so much more!
No experience is needed. Training is provided for all volunteer positions. Rescue Ranch could not operate without the help of our compassionate and dedicated volunteers! YOU can make a difference and help support our mission.
Currently, our ongoing volunteer program has the following opportunities for ages 14 and older. All interested parties must complete an online application and attend an in-person volunteer orientation.
● 14 and 15 years old can volunteer with a parent or guardian present
● 16 and 17 years old can volunteer with a parent/guardian signature
● 18 + can join our regular volunteer program
We ask that each volunteer commits to a minimum of four hours per month.
