Position: Mentor/Volunteer
Position Description: If you have ever considered mentoring a child, now is the time to get involved! Below are the basic requirements for applicants who are interested in becoming a Big Brother or Big Sister. We enroll children between the ages of 5 and 14, and it is our hope a volunteer will stay matched until the Little is 18 years old and beyond. Of course, you’ll be able to choose the age group and background you are most comfortable with.
All volunteer Bigs go through a screening process to help create meaningful, lasting mentoring relationships. The application and enrollment process takes an average of 6 months to complete. Volunteers are matched based on preferences and mutual interests and interviews are prioritized based on the likelihood of a successful match with a Little. Once matched, you will have on-going support throughout your mentoring relationship. Please be on the lookout for an email to attend our virtual orientation.
