Position(s): Cornelius Community Garden Manager
Position Descriptions: The Cornelius Community Garden was founded in 2013 and was established on the former gardening grounds of the Caldwell family. Presently, the Town of Cornelius leases the land to the SCC, with water provision facilitated by the town as well. With 70 plots measuring 8×4 feet each, accessible to Cornelius residents for an annual fee of $50, the garden offers an opportunity for communal cultivation. The role of Community Garden Manager is voluntary; however, SCC provides a $1000 stipend a year.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintaining the lawn and upkeep of the garden (lawn equipment provided by SCC).
Tilling of individual plots at the end of the season.
Helping to coordinate yearly garden clean-up.
Communicate effectively between gardeners and SCC.
Manage gardeners, ensuring upkeep of their plots and issuing warnings when necessary.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks.
Knowledge of gardening and horticultural practices.
Experience in community engagement and volunteer management

Position(s): Social Media Manager (Volunteer)
Position Descriptions: Smithville Community Coalition is looking to hire an individual who is experienced in communications and marketing, particularly in digital media, content creation, and social media management. The position offers flexibility with a hybrid work schedule and would require 2-5 hours of work per week for content creation, and sharing. The role of Social Media Manager is voluntary; however, SCC provides a $1,000 stipend per year.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and execute social media strategies to promote SCC's mission and community events
Manage content creation, scheduling, and posting across various social media platforms
Analyze and report on social media engagement and performance
Stay updated on social media trends and best practices to maximize SCC's online presence
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Proven experience as a social media manager or similar role
In-depth knowledge of various social media platforms and their best practices
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work effectively in a team and independently
Flexibility when working with the SCC team to communicate what information needs to be posted
