Position: Social Media Marketing Coordinator-2025 Turkey Trot

Position Summary: The Davidson Turkey Trot is looking for a creative, motivated student to help manage our social media presence in the lead-up to race day. This short-term opportunity is ideal for someone eager to gain hands-on experience in event marketing and community engagement.
What You'll Do:
Create and post content on Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and X (formerly Twitter)
Share updates, countdowns, sponsor shout-outs, and fun participant stories
Create short, engaging TikTok videos to build excitement and showcase the event vibe
Monitor comments and messages, and help keep the community excited
Optionally attend packet pick-up and race day to capture live content
What We're Looking For:
Strong communication skills and a positive, community-minded attitude
Interest in social media, events, or nonprofit work
Basic familiarity with Instagram, TikTok, and Canva (or willingness to learn)
Reliable, organized, and excited to be part of something meaningful
This is a short-term role with flexible hours. You’ll be supported every step of the way—and your work will help bring joy to hundreds of participants while supporting local causes.

Position: Website Developer
(8 week project)

Position Summary: Students Offering Smiles (SOS) is seeking a student website developer to create a brand-new website that showcases our mission, highlights our community impact, and features the Davidson Turkey Trot as one of our signature events. This is a hands-on opportunity to build a public-facing site from the ground up while contributing to a meaningful cause.
What You'll Do:
Design and build a new SOS website using a platform like Wix, Squarespace, or WordPress
Create pages for SOS’s mission, student projects, volunteer opportunities, and community events (including the 2025 Davidson Turkey Trot)
Ensure the site is mobile-friendly, visually engaging, and easy to navigate
Collaborate with SOS organizers to gather content, photos, and branding assets
Set up basic SEO and analytics tools to track engagement (optional but encouraged)
What We're Looking For:
Interest in web design, digital communication, or nonprofit outreach
Familiarity with website builders or basic HTML/CSS (we’ll support you as needed!)
Creative eye for layout and user experience
Organized, proactive, and excited to make a lasting impact
This is a student-led, short-term project with flexible hours and mentorship support. Your work will help SOS share its story, celebrate student-led initiatives, and build excitement for events like the Davidson Turkey Trot.

This is a great opportunity to build hands-on experience in digital outreach while helping share the joy and purpose behind SOS’s work.

Create and schedule content across Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and X (formerly Twitter)
Share highlights from the 2025 Davidson Turkey Trot, including photos, participant stories, and sponsor appreciation
Showcase how event proceeds are being used to support local causes and SOS initiatives
Promote SOS’s mission, student-led projects, and upcoming opportunities to get involved
Collaborate with SOS organizers to align messaging and share updates
