Position: Afternoon Classroom Assistant for 3- and 4-year olds 

Position Description:  

• Talk and listen to children “down on their level"

• Read books and stories that are age-appropriate

• Ad-lib, enhance stories and ask questions

• Inspire good feelings about reading and books; increase interest in reading and books in and out of the classroom.

• Assist teachers with activities

• Help on the playground

• Bilingual is especially helpful!

Position: Reading Readiness Afternoon Volunteer  

Position Description:  

• Talk and listening to children “down on their level"

• Read books and stories that are age appropriate

• Able “ad-lib”, enhance stories and ask questions

• Inspire good feelings about reading and books; increase interest in reading and books in and out of the classroom.

Position: Donation Assistant

Position Description:  

• Generate donations of supplies and funds

• Sort donations

• Organize theme boxes

• Manage a book and educational toy closet

Position: Fundraising 

Position Description:  

Be attentive to opportunities locally and on a corporate level for funding. Watch social media such as Share Charlotte for awards made to similar non-profits. Be a physical presence with groups of interest. Attempt at least one grant opportunity for the academic year.
