Position: Marketing Intern – 2025 Giving Tree Village (Part-time, Seasonal: August–December)
Location: Davidson, NC (Hybrid/Remote options available)
Position Description: The Rotary Club of Davidson is seeking a creative and driven Marketing Intern to support the promotion and community engagement efforts for Giving Tree Village, our annual holiday fundraising event benefiting local nonprofits. This is a unique opportunity to gain real-world marketing experience while contributing to a meaningful cause.
Key Responsibilities:
Marketing Plan
Review and analyze existing marketing strategy.
Develop a marketing plan.
Social Media Marketing
Develop, schedule, and publish engaging content across platforms (Instagram, Facebook, X/Twitter, LinkedIn).
Highlight participating nonprofits, sponsors, and Giving Tree Village activities.
Use tools like Canva, Meta Business Suite, or similar to design graphics and plan campaigns.
Content Creation
Write and edit blog posts, email newsletters, press releases, and promotional materials.
Capture and curate photos and video content before and during the event.
Community Engagement
Engage with followers online, respond to comments/messages, and build excitement leading up to the event.
Support the nonprofits with a toolkit for their marketing.
Assist in developing partnerships with local businesses and media outlets for event promotion.
Event Support
Attend and assist with in-person Giving Tree Village activities (decorating party, Jingle & Mingle, Giving Tree Village promotions, etc.)
Interview participants and gather testimonials for use in future marketing materials.
Analytics & Reporting
Track social media engagement, email open rates, and web traffic to optimize strategy.
Present a short post-event report with key metrics and recommendations.
Qualifications:
Pursuing a degree in Marketing, Communications, PR, Nonprofit Management, or a related field.
Passion for community service and nonprofit impact.
Strong writing, communication, and organizational skills.
Familiarity with social media platforms and design tools (Canva, Adobe Express, etc.)
Experience with Mailchimp, Google Drive, and basic website editing (a plus but not required).
Self-starter with a collaborative and creative mindset.
Compensation: This is an unpaid internship; however, it may be eligible for academic credit and offers a valuable opportunity to build your portfolio and network within the Davidson community.
