We are nearing the end of Quarter 1 and we are so proud of the work CAHS PL students are putting into their academics this year! As a campus, our goal for students this year is:
100% of students progress through at least 80% of curriculum
We believe that all students can achieve high levels of learning if they consistently engage in their courses and submit work. We are so happy to report that we are making incredible progress towards this goal and currently 72% of CAHS PL Students are submitting work every single week. Amazing job Caimans!
We want to build on this success and will be sending out a student survey next week for each course to gain valuable insight into what is most effective and what improvements we can continue to make. Thank you for partnering with us as we continue to make progress towards reaching our goals of ensuring high levels of learning for all students!

Key highlights for your students:
Application workshops.
Opportunities to meet professors, staff, current students and their families, and CSUSM alumni.
Tours of campus and housing.
"Admit on the spot" opportunities. First-year students must complete a Cal State Apply application for CSUSM by Oct. 10, 11:59 p.m. to be eligible to receive an admission decision on or before Discover CSUSM - Fall Admission Day. There are certain requirements and admission is granted on a conditional basis. If students missed the deadline, they are encouraged to submit their CSU application as soon as possible to ensure consideration. A copy of their school transcript is required on the day of the event.

If your student is going to be absent or tardy, please send an email to plcattendance@classicalacademy.com or call the attendance line at (760) 462-1585 to excuse them. Students who are excused to be tardy will then be issued a tardy pass at the front desk when they arrive.
If your student anticipates being absent from school for more than two weeks, please have them complete the Extended Absence Form and submit the completed form to the front desk at least two weeks prior to their planned absence.
As a California independent study school, we are required to offer optional synchronous (live) instruction opportunities for students. This provides a chance for students to connect with a credentialed teacher in real time for academic support. There is no negative impact for the student if they do not attend.
At CAHS PL, synchronous (live) instruction opportunities are offered through workshop classes, synchronous virtual courses and Monday Office Hours. If you would like more information about times available to your student, please reach out to their teacher directly.
We are required to notify families when students do not take part (lack of attendance) and encourage all students to access the available resources.
Thank you for your continued support.
The CAHS PL Parents & Students Academic Resources document is the most comprehensive resource for information for the 25/26 academic year. For details on schedules, calendars, academic events, course expectations and more, you can refer back to this document throughout the year!
