SENIORS!
Seniors! Interested in attending Palomar Community College next year! Don't miss out on their guaranteed transfer pathway!
Benefits of attending Palomar:
Eligible high school graduates can attend Palomar College tuition-free for their first two years by taking at least 12 credits per semester and maintaining a 2.0 GPA.
Starting at Palomar College can save students up to $20,000 compared with beginning at a four-year university such as San Diego State University or California State University San Marcos.
Students can stay on track for a bachelor’s degree through guaranteed transfer pathways to many California State University and University of California campuses.
Palomar College partners with local employers to prepare students for high-demand careers with strong long-term job opportunities.
Students benefit from a supportive learning environment with faculty focused on academic success and student support.
Research shows community college transfer students often perform as well as, or better than, students who begin directly at four-year universities.
Choosing Palomar College is more than a smart financial decision; it’s a strong academic start and a clear pathway to your goals. Getting started is easy!
Apply to Palomar College: Complete the free online application through CCCApply.
Submit the FAFSA: Fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid to access additional financial support.
Once complete, you will be ready to enroll in classes. Palomar's team is here to help each step of the way! For more information, call (760) 891-7550.
Seniors! Interested in attending Mira Costa Community College next year! Don't miss out on their Transfer Success Pathway (TSP) opportunity!
Student TSP Eligibility:
Recent high school graduate
NO college enrollment post- high school
First time college freshman (at a California Community College, like MiraCosta)
Students must “opt-in” to a TSP agreement through the CSU Transfer Planner tool between 8/1/26 - 10/31/26.
Students are guaranteed admission to that campus & major, so long as they meet the program requirements outlined in their agreement. However, students do not need to commit to the TSP campus or program and may opt out at any time.
The MiraCosta Transfer Center will be offering workshops for students throughout the application timeframe.
Palomar is excited to invite you to Comet Commitment Day at Palomar College’s San Marcos campus on Saturday, May 30th, from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm. This is a special event designed to support graduating seniors in completing their admissions and enrollment steps.
This event is a great opportunity for students to receive hands-on support with:
Completing their Palomar application
Registering for classes
Connecting with campus resources and support programs
Answering financial aid and admissions questions
Palomar's goal is to make the transition from high school to college as smooth and stress-free as possible, and Comet Commitment Day provides a welcoming, supportive environment to get it all done in one place.
Why encourage your students to attend?
One-on-one guidance from Palomar staff
Comprehensive support through the enrollment process
Build confidence about starting college
Get connected before the semester begins
Please see the attached flyer for additional information and use our QR code or link to access our sign-up form.
If your student is going to be absent or tardy, please send an email to plcattendance@classicalacademy.com or call the attendance line at (760) 462-1585 to excuse them. Students who are excused to be tardy will then be issued a tardy pass at the front desk when they arrive.
If your student anticipates being absent from school for more than two weeks, please have them complete the Extended Absence Form and submit the completed form to the front desk at least two weeks prior to their planned absence.
As a California independent study school, we are required to offer optional synchronous (live) instruction opportunities for students. This provides a chance for students to connect with a credentialed teacher in real time for academic support. There is no negative impact for the student if they do not attend.
At CAHS PL, synchronous (live) instruction opportunities are offered through workshop classes, synchronous virtual courses and Monday Office Hours. If you would like more information about times available to your student, please reach out to their teacher directly.
We are required to notify families when students do not take part (lack of attendance) and encourage all students to access the available resources.
Thank you for your continued support.
The CAHS PL Parents & Students Academic Resources document is the most comprehensive resource for information for the 25/26 academic year. For details on schedules, calendars, academic events, course expectations and more, you can refer back to this document throughout the year!
