Classical Academy Online - News

September 17th - 21st

Dear Classical Academy Online Families:

What does this week look like at Classical Academy Online? The energy has begun to stir, as we prepare for Homecoming in October. The CARE and Leadership team worked hard to put on a great assembly and announce the Homecoming Theme, The Happiest Place Online - Disneyland! We will continue to build up the spirit week information and posters, as well as start selling tickets to CAO students on Tuesday. CAO students can purchase their ticket for $25, as well as $25 for a guest with a guest pass. If a CAO student wants to attend the Studio Homecoming dance or vica versa, they must wait until week 3 to purchase a ticket for the other campus. Students may not attend both dances or go between campuses for the Homecoming dance.

Friday was the Big Deadline. What does that mean? A big deadline means that you should be caught up in all coursework, have created a shared Google folder, titles with your "First Name Last Name Work Samples." This folder should be shared with your cohort teacher. By every Big Deadline, you should choose one work sample, from your google docs account, for each subject, and copy them into that folder. Then, on cohort conference day, you will simply need to bring your notebooks, for each subject, and we won't have to tear out a work sample.

Speaking of Cohort Conference, our first meetings are this upcoming Thursday and Friday. On Cohort Conference days, there are no workshops and no students allowed on campus. These are home study days and you only come in for your scheduled conference with a parent. Each conference lasts about 20 minutes. Each student should be prepared to show their progress, goals, and celebrate their learning.

The date to drop classes has now passed. There are no add/drop/changes to workshops or online classes for the remainder of the semester. Remember that we are here to help if you need any guidance!

Students are only required to be on campus for their workshops. As a closed campus, students may not leave campus and then return, unless they have a Studio class or club. For lunch, we have a full student lounge set up with microwaves, toaster oven, and refrigerator. Please plan according to your schedule for snacks, lunch, or bring money for the student store. Seniors can obtain a Senior Lunch Permission Slip, from the front desk, to get a parent signature to go off campus for lunch on Tuesday only. Senior lunch will not allow students to go to another campus for lunch.

Seminar final projects are due in Summit Learning by Monday, September 17, 2018. You will review your final project at your first cohort conference on Thursday, September 20 or Friday, September 21 with your cohort teacher.

See you on campus this week!

Dr. Stacey Perez

Attention Seniors!

The time is almost here to send you off into the real world and we want to help prepare you as much as we can. If you haven’t already done so, you will want to start working on those college applications because early decision deadlines are coming up soon!

Tip of the Week:

Printing unofficial transcripts has never been easier! You can do so by logging into your Pathways and on the left side of the screen click on the “Reporting” link. It will take you to the Reporting page where you will then click on the top tab that says “Transcripts”. That tab will turn green and you will click the “Print Unofficial Transcripts” button under the greyed out tabs and BOOM! You have your unofficial transcript!
