Classical Academy Online - News

March 11th - 15th

Dear CAO Families,

We hope that you were able to attend Super STEM Saturday at Cal State San Marcos. This is an amazing event that is hosted by The Classical Academies in a partnership with CSUSM to promote Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. CAO features the Rocket Launching Booth, where students can build and launch their rocket. See our Facebook Page for pictures and updates.

All student should have completed MAP assessments, for the winter session, by last week. We will upload these measures of academic growth and have a final assessment at the end of the year. These are excellent indicators of student growth and the implementation of Summit Learning is impacting our student success.

As we are winding down the last 12 weeks of the school year, we are also busy planning for the upcoming school year. Please make sure that your student is setting all weekly goals on Monday. If they are showing any red focus areas, on their Summit Learning dashboard, they should be addressing those areas this week. All content assessments should be up to date and not left for the final few weeks of the quarter. Encourage your student to take all content assessments this week. Accountability Plans will be given at Cohort Conferences, March 21 & 22, for students who need to get caught up in these areas.

Student success has skyrocketed this semester! We are seeing students talk the talk and walk the walk; mentoring meetings, goal setting, and staying up to date on all areas of academics are signs that students are succeeding and achieving. Remember that we are here to help and guide this partnership with parents. We want students to advocate for themselves, but we also want parents to let us know how we can help.

Let's finish this quarter strong and look forward to cohort conferences next week!

Dr. Stacey Perez
