Classical Academy Online - News
March 4th - 8th
Dear CAO Families,
Classical Academy Online is a flexible and open learning environment. For your safety and security, we ask that students use our wifi, while at school. Many students use their own data, on their phones and devices, which we are unable to monitor. I am requesting that all students put away their phones while at school and that they do not participate in social media posts that are negative towards CAO. These posts are not kind and are a distraction. Our culture is to be positive and build each other up, not the opposite. A sincere thank you to the families who reached out, on Friday, and took action regarding monitoring social media accounts.
Registration for the 2019-20 school year has now come to a close. If you are missing any documents or need to discuss next year's registration, please contact Mrs. Lynn Reardon at lreardon@classicalacademy.com. New families who are seeking enrollment for next year can still attend a new family orientation, this Wednesday, March 6, 2019 at 4:00 p.m. Registration for the 2019-20 school year is now on a first come first serve basis until we reach capacity.
What's next? It is now time for course selection! Our incoming freshman will attend a course selection orientation, March 7, 2019 at 3:15 p.m. or 5:15 p.m. All other grades can meet with their cohort teacher, Ms. Tayler Williams, Ms. Mary Tanner, Ms. Bree Long, or Ms. Bobbie Mcfarlane. In addition, Ms. Williams will have a full course selection presentation during the second week of March. Dates and times will be posted in Schoology.
Please check Schoology for daily and weekly updates. If you are not receiving updates, it could be in your individual Schoology account setup. When logged into Schoology, as a parent, go to your name on the upper, right hand side and click on the arrow down. Then, go to 'settings' and then 'notifications.' This is where you can set the notifications for all courses, groups, the school updates and calendar, as well as individual notifications. If you need any assistance with this process, please don't hesitate to ask!
In regards to Classical Academy Online renovation and construction, we will start the majority of the east side (the other building) renovations this week. Eight new classrooms will be prepared, as well as the new student lunch quad, for next year! Stay tuned for some volunteer and community service activities towards the end of the year. Do you have any skills, talents, or ideas to help us with this process? Contact Mr. Chris Williams at cwilliams@classicalacademy.com or locate him on campus with your suggestions.
Thanks again for your continued partnership.

CAMS is looking for Tutors!
Classical Academy Middle School is looking for High School Students who might be good writing and math tutors, who understand the summit platform and willing to help out some middle school students. You would be recommended to parents as private tutors, and it could be an opportunity to get tutoring experience. And if you choose to volunteer your time, you could use it for Community Service Hours!
If you are interested, you need to be in good academic standing, recommended by teachers (formal recommendations aren't necessary), and willing to work demonstrate patience and flexibility while working with younger students.
