Classical Academy High School
Personalized Learning Campus
September 7th - 11th
Happy Labor Day!
We hope you have a chance to rest, relax, and stay out of the heat on this Labor Day. The school is closed and the team is off enjoying time with friends and family. We will return Tuesday for synchronous classes, office hours, and mentoring.
This upcoming Friday is a BIG DEADLINE. What does that mean? All students should be up to date on all focus areas, checkpoints, and goal setting by Friday. If you are seeing any red on your Summit dashboard, this is the week to put it into high gear, reach out to your teachers, and make sure you are caught up by Friday. Students needing additional support or guidance will receive an accountability plan, if they continue to have trouble reaching their goals. An accountability plan helps the parent, student, and teacher(s) create a plan that will help the student get caught up and find help in areas that they may need more support. It is a plan to help a student succeed.
Parents, we have more support for you, as well! Every Friday we feature Parent Power Hours from 9-12 pm to help you learn more about the technology being used, navigate your student's academics, and provide you motivation. Please reach out to us if you need additional support.
Let's make it a fun and productive week! Thank you for partnering with us.
Dr. Stacey Perez

Reminder of Content Assessment Policies and Procedures
Afternoon proctor email is only monitored Tues-Thurs 2-3pm.
To use the afternoon service WITH A PARENT PROCTOR:
The parent sends an email request to proctor@classicalacademy.com containing: Student name/grade level/name of assessment and attaches a copy of student-generated notes with parent signature/time/date. The student sets a goal in Summit and requests the Content Assessment in Summit. I will reply back to the email when the assessment is ready and the student has 10 minutes to begin the assessment before the request times out. They have 90 minutes to finish the 10 question assessment.
To use the afternoon service as a student:
The student sends an email request to proctor@classicalacademy.com containing: Student name/grade level/name of assessment and attaches a copy of student-generated notes. I will reply back with a link to a Zoom Room and then open the assessment. The students will mute their mics and be live on camera while they take their assessment. I am available to troubleshoot technical difficulties.

PSAT Update
The College Board made a BIG announcement yesterday that will positively impact all of us as we plan for PSAT administration.
There is now an alternative date that the test can be given. This was designed for schools that are either closed for the fall or who are unsure if they will have all of their students and teacher proctors back on campus for the original October test date.
The new date the test will now be offered is Tuesday, January 26th.
Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT®) will be offered in January 2021. As many schools adopt remote learning this fall, we're expanding our testing opportunities across fall and winter for this school year. To provide the most opportunity for the greatest number of students:
We’re offering another administration on January 26, 2021.
The January administration will have the same benefits as the October PSAT/NMSQT, including eligibility for programs administered by National Merit Scholarship Corporation.

Who Do I Ask?
We know that clear communication is going to be crucial during this time, so we wanted to make sure you know where to go if you have a question. We put together a "Who Do I Ask?" Document which contains all of our Support Team's specific roles and email addresses. We want all students and parents to feel free to email anyone on our team with any questions that you have.
