TECHNOLOGY USE ON CAMPUS
Beginning this school year, all CAHS students will be required to use their school-issued Chromebook while on campus rather than personal devices. We want to ensure every student has access to the same high-quality tools and resources, are working from the same operating system with the same apps and extensions, and have ongoing and immediate tech support from our trained team.
Every student will receive their Chromebook during Gear Up Day, and we're excited about the positive impact this change will have on our learning environment.
We know this represents a shift from previous years, and we appreciate your partnership as we implement this policy that will ultimately benefit all our students' learning experience. If you have any questions or concerns about this change, please don't hesitate to reach out. We're here to support you and your student through this transition. Thank you!
STUDENT IDS will continue to be hosted on the 5 Star Student App! In addition, all students will be checking in and out of campus, checking into events, signing up for activities, showing their schedule to security for early release and many other functions all in the 5Star Student App!
If you are a student that does not have a smart phone, please come to the front desk to discuss alternative Student ID options.

๐ CAIMAN KICKOFF: Connect with our community and celebrate the year ahead!ย
This event is specifically for freshmen and transfer students new to PL this year! More details for students will be sent in the days to come but parents, mark your calendars for a special parent orientation on Monday August 25th from 9am-10am at the CAHS PL Campus (the student event runs from 9am-12pm) where you will meet our team, learn about our academic plans for the year ahead, and have time to connect to all the valuable resources aimed at helping you navigate the upcoming year with ease.
โ๏ธ GEAR UP DAY: Ensure you have everything needed for academic success!
This event is our first day of school where students and families are invited to come to campus to receive all of the incredible resources needed for the upcoming year like computers, textbooks, and ID cards. In addition students and families will have an opportunity to walk their schedules and meet with each of their teachers--making invaluable connections prior to the first day of classes! Gear up day is Tuesday, August 26th from 8am-4pm.
VIRTUAL COURSE ONBOARDING ORIENTATION: All students taking a virtual course are invited to come to an important onboarding session Tuesday, August 26th from 6-7pm. This onboarding session will help ensure students have the tools they need to be successful in their virtual courses and start the year strong. ZOOM LINK

Join us for our annual Back-to-School BBQ & We will take you away on an island vacation! We love to kick off the school year with this fun event, so come hang out with old friends and meet new ones! Students can wear beach/island gear (school dress code still applies), BBQ Dinner, fun drinks and desserts are all included in the ticket price. If your student is going to be absent or tardy, please send an email to plcattendance@classicalacademy.com or call the attendance line at (760) 462-1585 to excuse them.ย Students who are excused to be tardy will then be issued a tardy pass at the front desk when they arrive.
If your student anticipates being absent from school for more than two weeks, please have them complete the Extended Absence Form and submit the completed form to the front desk at least two weeks prior to their planned absence.
As a California independent study school, we are required to offer optional synchronous (live) instruction opportunities for students. This provides a chance for students to connect with a credentialed teacher in real time for academic support. There is no negative impact for the student if they do not attend.
At CAHS PL, synchronous (live) instruction opportunities are offered through workshop classes, synchronous virtual courses and Monday Office Hours. If you would like more information about times available to your student, please reach out to their teacher directly.
We are required to notify families when students do not take part (lack of attendance) and encourage all students to access the available resources.
