Classical Academy Online - News
January 14th - 18th
Dear CAO Students and Families,
We hope that you had an excellent holiday break and enjoyed ringing in the new year with friends and family. We are excited for a fresh start in 2019, but we must wrap up the first semester over the next few weeks.
As a reminder, all projects were due before the Christmas break. Please connect with your content area teacher if you are still showing incompletes on the Summit Learning Platform.
Content Assessments can be taken January 8-11 and January 14-16.
Workshops will not be held January 8-16, in order to allow time for students to meet with their teachers, mentor, and academic coach. However, the Cafe will be open from 7-4 p.m. for structured and productive time with teachers. The self directed learning area will be open for content assessments only. All music and advanced placement workshops will still be held, as they are attendance based classes.
Classical Academy Online will feature their Academic Showcase and Expo on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 from 4:00-6:00 p.m. All students are expected to participate and showcase their best/favorite project from quarter 1. Parents, families, and the community are invited to attend. Additional details will be released on Schoology regarding student attire, presentations, and expectations for the event. It is a true honor for Classical Academy Online to show our advancements in education and the great work that students have produced over the past semester. Please be reminded that the projects and Academic Showcase are in place of final exams.
CAO will be closed on January 17-18 to allow grades to be finalized. All classes will close and final grades will be issued on Friday, January 18, 2019.
Students will have time to get organized and to get a head start on the second semester, which begins January 22, 2019.
Do you know of someone who is looking to enroll at CAO this year? We are currently accepting registration for second semester. All new families must attend a New Family Orientation, which are being held on January 9, 2018 from 4-5:00 p.m. No appointment is necessary to attend a New Family Orientation. However, it is a requirement before registering with us for second semester.
We are quickly moving forward... please reach out to us if you need any guidance, assistance, or questions answered. We are here to help.
Dr. Stacey Perez

Congratulations to the CAOS Robotics Team!
CAOS Robotics competed in the Touring League qualifying meet at the San Diego Jewish Academy this weekend. As a rookie team, CAOS was excited but not exactly sure what to expect during the tournament. First, the team passed the robot and field inspection and awaited the match schedule. Matches 4, 7, 11, 14, 18, & 20 lead to the semifinals, where Team CAOS won and went on to the finals. A final score of 251 to 250 awarded CAOS the #1 spot! Congratulations Team CAOS.
