Bell/Timer
Procedure
Divide the participants into teams of 3 - 4 persons.
Supply each team with the materials: student whiteboard, dry erase marker, erasing tool, and Bibles.
In each team, writers will take turns by order of birth date, starting with those whose birthdays are in January.
The facilitator explains that the verses have been divided into 3 levels, and tells participants how much time they have to complete the task for each level.
Level 1: 10 seconds
Level 2: 20 seconds
Level 3: 30 seconds
The facilitator states the level and reads a verse from that level.
Each team will collaborate to respond on the student whiteboard within the time frame. Use of the Bible is allowed.
The facilitator may choose to provide hints such as:
Old Testament/New Testament
Author
When time is up, the facilitator rings the bell and all teams raise up their whiteboard and take turn to present their answers. Teams that have answered correctly earn a point.
Everyone turns to the verse and reads it together.
Each team passes the student whiteboard to the next writer for the new round and the facilitator states a new level and verse.
Continue as time allows. The team with the most points at the end wins.
Notes
Try to pick verses that have been used during classes, verses that are relevant to the theme, or important verses that you think the participants should know.
