Purpose
To teach the importance of knowing the Truth
Objective
To correctly answer your question
Materials
Printed multiple-choice trivia questions 1
Pen or pencil (1 per participant)
Paper
Tape
Bell/Timer
Hand every participant a Bible trivia question.
Everyone will refrain from looking at their question until the facilitator signals to begin.
The facilitator will announce that everyone will be working together to answer the trivia questions.
Tell them that their goal is to get as many correct answers as possible, so it’s in everyone’s best interest to help each other get the right answers.
The chosen false prophets will attempt to convince participants of the wrong answer while also trying to conceal their identity. They CAN tell people the right answer if they wish.
The goal of the false prophets, however, is still to try to lead as many people astray as possible.
Also let them know that it’s okay if they don’t know the answers because it’s possible that some other participant knows the answer
The Bible and the Internet are prohibited.
DO NOT tell the participants that there are false prophets planted into the game.
Once the facilitator signals to begin, players will begin showing each other their respective trivia questions to try to figure out their answers.
Once the time is up, the facilitator will ring the bell, and participants will then proceed to their designated locations based on the answer they choose (Ex: If Adam chooses answer choice “C,” he will go to the place designated for that answer choice).
The facilitator will then provide the answers for all the questions.
How the facilitator does this is up to him/her.
The facilitator can go to each individual to check the answers.
The facilitator can go through each question as a group (this one is the best, but also the most time consuming).
The facilitator can number the questions ahead of time and just say the number and the answer choice.
Participants who answered incorrectly will sit down or return to their seats.
At the very end, announce that there were false prophets in the game and who they were.
Lesson
Have the participants read a verse(s) about false prophets. Explain to them that it is important for us to know the Truth ourselves so that we won’t be deceived. The false prophets can even be among us while we remain oblivious to them, just as they were in this activity. Sometimes, we may even lead others astray just because we didn’t know the Truth ourselves, not because we’re intentionally trying to deceive others.
1 John 4:1
Matthew 7:15; 24:24
2 Peter 2:1-3
Jeremiah 23:16
Preparation
Print out enough Bible trivia questions (multiple choice) per participant.
Having a different question per person is preferable, but if there are enough participants, duplicate questions may work (Every two people will have the same question 2).
Designate locations for answer choices (a, b, c, d, e, etc.) for the participants to go to when they choose their answer. This can be done with a piece of paper with a large letter written on it.
Choose a small percentage of the participants ahead of time as the “false prophets.” These people will need to know the questions and answers ahead of time. However, the activity can still work if the false prophets are not given the questions and answers.
As a guideline, 6 false prophets in a group of 40 is sufficient.

Notes
1 These questions should not be simple trivia questions that everyone already knows.
But don’t make it so hard that no one would know.
2 This does not mean two people will share a question as a team. Each of the two will still be working individually.
