Recommended Group Size

Estimated Time
20+ minutes
Purpose
To work together with one another
Objective
To recognize and state the hymn being hummed
Materials
Hymn Book
Bell/Timer
Procedure
Divide participants into teams of 4 - 8 people.
Each team sends a representative to the facilitator each round.
The facilitator shows the representatives a hymn to hum.
If a representative does not know the hymn, the facilitator can decide if other representatives are allowed to teach the hymn to that representative (in another area, away from participants). Otherwise, that representative’s team forfeits for that round.
If none of the representatives know the hymn, the facilitator should choose another hymn.
The representatives return to their group. The facilitator rings the bell to signal representatives to begin humming the hymn they have been shown. Representatives must wait for the bell to begin humming.
The first team to correctly guess the hymn title earns a point. The facilitator can decide if the correct hymn number is also required to earn a point. If no team correctly guesses the hymn after 1 minute, the facilitator ends the round and continues with another hymn.
Choose a new representative each round until each team member has hummed at least once.
Continue for as many rounds as time allows.
Notes
The facilitator may choose hymns that are relevant to the theme or teaching of the fellowship.
