Procedure
Post 5 posters with questions on the walls.
Pick the descriptions that fit your group, write them on strips of papers, put them in a container. Split up the people into equal groups.
Assign each group to a poster.
Pick one description from the container to determine who speaks first in each group. The designated participant shares the answers to the questions and then popcorns the next person to share.
When everyone in the group is done, everyone records the following on his/her answer sheet:
Something new I learned or discovered
Something I can start doing
Something I like about this discussion, topic, or activity
Questions I have
Improvement: As we improve our relationships with people around us, there will be great changes in your lives, church, and class. It has ripple effects. It only take one person who is willing to be changed by God to change the whole family or church.
Inspiration: We need inspiring people in our lives so we always have someone to look up to and emulate. These people make a huge difference in our lives. At the same time, may we be an inspiration to people around us. When we are an inspiration to others, what direction are we pointing them to? [to good health? to excellence? to be loving? to God? The story of The Three Trees]
Direction: Every so often, reflect on the direction of your life.
What you do everyday determines the direction of your journey.
It shouldn't be a surprise where you end up at the end.
What you sow today is what you will reap in the future.
Friendship: We have different types of friends in our lives. Some are fun to hang out with while some would go out of their way to be there for you. Some may not be able to spend much time with you but would think of you often. Some would be there only in good times while some would be there in bad times. It is good to reflect what kind of friends we have. On the other hand, we should also reflect what kind of friend we are to others. Are we the ones who would attend our friends' birthday till midnight but would not be willing to send our friends to the airport early in the morning?
Reflection
Share one thing you have learned about the group.
Share one thing you have learned about yourself.
Discussion Questions
After the activity, facilitator leads the discussion:
A: Change
If there is one thing you could change in the church, what would you change? Why? How?
If there is one thing you could change in yourself, what would you change? Why? How?
If there is one thing you could change in the class, what would you change? Why? How?
If there is one thing you could change at your workplace, what would you change? Why? How?
B: Improvement
Which relationship in your family do you need to improve? Why? How?
Which relationship in your workplace do you need to improve? Why? How?
Which relationship in this class do you want to improve? Why? How?
Which relationship in the church do you need to improve? Why? How?
C: Inspiration
Who inspires you in your family? Why?
Who inspires you in your workplace? Why?
Who inspires you in this class? Why?
Who inspires you in church? Why?
D: Direction
Yourself, God, Family, Friends, Church, Enjoyment, Entertainment - rate your priority based on how you spent your week. Explain.
What is your goal each day? Think about yesterday to help you. [to be happy, to enjoy life, to survive, to do something new, to do better than yesterday, to glorify God, to be successful, to love, to be loved, to serve, to live for Christ, to not sin, to learn, others…]
Are you facing God or the world this week? Draw a line with God and world on each side. Mark where you are. Write the score.
If you die today, what would be the 3 things you want people to remember you by?
E: Friendship
If you were to host a birthday party in a mansion, who would attend other than your family?
If you were to die, who would visit your grave after your funeral other than your family?
If you were to move to a far away country, who would send you off at the airport other than your family?
If you were to need an organ transplant, who would give you their organ other than your family?
Lessons
Change: There are a lot of things we wish are different in our lives, our church, and this class. Instead of changing others, there's always something we can change about ourselves.
Notes
If there’s extra time, the whole group will find a verse to summarize or encourage each other concerning that topic. When 10 minutes is up, the facilitator dings the bell for each group to move to the next poster clockwise. Repeat until they finish all the posters. At the end of the gallery walk, the facilitator reads the conclusion for each topic, and then asks everyone to share one thing they learned about their group and one thing they learned about themselves.
