Recommended Group Size
8 - 56 persons
4 - 8 per team
Estimated Time
30 minutes
Purpose
To team build and memorize Bible verses or biblical teachings
Objective
To collect the most water in your bucket as a team
Materials
1 cup per participant
1 bucket per team
Pitcher of water
List of memory verses or biblical teachings per facilitator
Large, grassy area
Bell/Timer
Procedure
Divide participants into teams of 4-8 persons. Designate a facilitator for each team and give each facilitator a list of the memory verses and/or biblical teachings.
Pass out one cup to each participant.
Each team forms a line by lying down on their backs on the grass with their hands over their heads, lying toe-to-head, holding the cup.
The facilitators will stand at the beginning of each line, at the head of the first participant. A bucket will be located at the feet of the last person in the line.
Before the game starts, the facilitators will fill the first cup with water.
One facilitator announces the memory verse or biblical teaching. Give participants some time to memorize the verse or biblical teaching.
The team member with the water must recite the verse or teaching before they can pass the water on.
After correctly reciting the verse or teaching, the team member sits up and passes the water into the cup of the second team member, who is lying down in front of them.
The second team member must wait until all the water has been poured before reciting the verse and sitting up.
Team members continue passing the water and reciting the verse until the water reaches the last team member.
The last team member recites the verse and pours the water into the bucket.
When a team finishes, the facilitator for that team must fill up the first cup again and give a new verse or teaching.
At the end of 10 minutes, the facilitator will ring the bell and the team that collected the most water wins.
