Recommended Group Size
10+ persons
Estimated Time
5+ minutes
Purpose
To interact with each other
Objective
To be in the winning kingdom at the end
Materials
None
Procedure
Each participant will find a pair to play rock, paper, scissors. 1
The winner of each group will become the king/queen, and the loser will become his/her subject. They are now a kingdom.
Each kingdom will then find another kingdom to play rock, paper, scissors with. The subjects must battle first.
The subject who wins will then battle the other kingdom’s king/queen, while the loser steps out for the duration of the battle.
If the subject defeats the other king/queen, then that king/queen’s kingdom joins the winning subject’s kingdom all as subjects.
If the subject loses to the other king/queen, then the losing subject’s king/queen will need to battle the other king/queen, while the losing subject steps out for the duration of the battle.
The king/queen should always be the last person in a kingdom to battle.
When a kingdom has multiple subjects, all the subjects must battle first and lose before the king/queen can battle in the order of youngest to oldest until the king/queen is reached.
Eventually only two large kingdoms will remain. The winning kingdom wins.
Notes
This should be used as a lobby activity as you wait for more participants to arrive.
Please use “rock, paper, scissors” NOT “rock, paper, scissors, shoot.” 1
