Recommended Group Size
20+ persons
4 - 6+ per team
Estimated Time
25+ minutes
Purpose
To work together as a team to complete a task
Objective
To answer the questions by moving into one of the four designated corners.
To be the fastest team to complete the given task at that corner.
Materials
Four sheets of paper, labeled A, B, C, and D
Tape
Task list (either projected or given verbally)
Paper
Pencil or pen (1 per participant)
Bibles
Bell/Timer (optional)
Procedure
Post one letter to each of the four corners of the room. Put paper and pens at each corner.
The facilitator asks a question and indicates (using a bell or a cue word) when participants must move into one of the corners based on their answer. Give participants time to think of their answer before sending them off.
If a corner has only 1 person, have him/her join another group.
Say the task or project it on a wall.
Once a team completes the task, all members raise their hands. Wait until all teams have completed the task. If the task is timed, all teams must finish by the time limit.
The fastest team to correctly complete the task, shares their answers, and wins a point. [Note: The first team to complete the task may not have completed it correctly; make sure to check before awarding the point.]
Repeat steps 4 - 6 until 3 - 5 tasks have been completed, or until time allows. The team with the most points wins the round. (Hence each round will include 1 four corner question to make teams and 3 - 5 tasks to be completed by the teams.)
If time allows, do step 2 once and repeat steps 4 - 6 to have a completely new team win the round.
Variations
Instead of competing to complete the task as quickly as possible, the goal can be to complete the task within the assigned time (30 seconds, 60 seconds, 90 seconds, etc.).
