Recommended Group Size
12+ persons
Estimated Time
30 minutes
Purpose
To learn things about one another
Objective
To make appointments with people
Materials
Index cards or slips of paper
Pen or pencil (1 per participant)
Bell/Timer (Optional)
Procedure
Prepare enough index cards or slips of paper for each participant.
Write 3 appointment slots (9 AM/12 PM/3 PM) on each.
Next to each appointment slot, write a requirement for which type of individual participants may make an appointment with. Example:
9 AM: Find someone who has been to a different country.
12 PM: Find someone who lives in a different city than you.
3 PM: Find someone who sings a different singing part than you (SATB).
Each slip may have the same or different requirements.
Everyone receives a card/slip of paper with 3 appointment slots and 3 sharing questions written on it.
Each participant finds 3 different people to make appointments with, filling all time slots.
Both partners write each others' names into the appropriate time slot.
You may only have one partner per slot.
The requirement only needs to be fulfilled for one of the partners.
For example, if Adam found Eve to fit for his 9AM (Eve has been to a different country), but Adam doesn't fit Eve's 9AM (Adam has not been to a different country), they can still pair up since one of them has fulfilled an appointment.
Those that have finished making all 3 appointments must sit down and start thinking about the sharing questions.
Wait until everyone has finished making appointments to continue. Match up those who still have open appointments to fill.
If there are still extra people who don’t have appointments, they can join another group.
The facilitator will call out a random appointment, and everyone will find their partner for that appointment and share about 3 things. Take about 3 minutes for each appointment. Repeat this step until all 3 appointments have been called.
Discussion Questions
After the activity, facilitator leads the discussion:
What is one thing not many people may know about you?
What is your dream job and why?
Which Bible character inspires you the most and why?

Notes
Do steps 1 - 3 beforehand as preparation.
Here are some additional appointment requirements you may use:
Find someone who is taller or shorter than you.
Find someone of the opposite gender.
Find someone who has a different number of siblings than you.
Find someone who is a different age.
Find someone with a different last name.
Find someone who wakes up at a different time on a weekday.
You can also make your own appointment requirements.
