Recommended Group Size
4+ persons
4+ per team
Estimated Time
15+ minutes
Purpose
To learn and to apply Bible knowledge and to work together with other people
Objective
To pass on the charade as accurately as possible to the next person
Materials
Charades topics (found in document on bottom of page or you can make your own)
Bell/Timer (optional)
Procedure
Split up the participants based on how many people are present. Teams are recommended not to have fewer than 4 people.
Have everyone line up in one line facing one direction.
The participant who has no one behind him/her is the one who starts.
The facilitator will then tell that participant the topic.
When the participant is ready, that participant will tap the next participant in line and that second participant will turn around and watch.
The first participant will then act out the topic to the second participant . When the second participant is ready, he/she will tap the third participant and act out what he/she just saw.
When the last participant sees the charade, he/she will try to guess the answer. If guessed incorrectly, go through the line backwards to see where the charade was good enough to be guessed.
Variations
You can have teams race to get the answer first. In a team race, only the last participant is allowed to guess. The last participant is also only allowed to see the previous participant's charade and no one else's.
You can make the distance between each participant larger so that each participant would have to run, so they get some exercise while playing this game.
Notes
Time varies based on how many participants there are per team and how many times it is played.
Try not to have a lot of participants in one team as participants will have to wait a long time and stand doing nothing until it is their turn.
