Two Circles

Procedure

• 1. Have participants pair up and number off 1 and 2.

  2. Ask all number 1's to form an inner circle facing out. Then, ask all number 2's to form an outer circle facing in.

     1. There should be a circle within a circle, with participants in one circle facing those of the other circle.

     2. Participants should be facing their partner.

     3. If done correctly, each participant should have a partner with whom to talk.

  3. The facilitator announces how long participants have to share, and then asks an icebreaker question. Participants share for the designated amount of time.

  4. After the designated amount of time, the facilitator rings the bell and the inner circle rotates clockwise to the next participant.

  5. The facilitator asks a new question, gives participants time to share, then rings the bell again.

  6. Continue until the inner circle has returned to its original place.

  7. The facilitator may choose to recycle questions instead of having participants answer new questions each time.
