ABC Line Up

Procedure

1. Divide the participants into teams of 10 - 20, and have each team stand in a line.

2. Announce one of the following topics below:

   1. Last name

   2. Favorite fruit

   3. Pet's (or former pet’s) name

   4. City of birth

   5. City you live in

   6. Favorite drink

   7. Fantasy vacation destination

   8. Ideal spouse in the Bible

   9. Ideal father in the Bible

   10. Ideal mother in the Bible

   11. Ideal teacher in the Bible

   12. Ideal son/daughter in the Bible

   13. Favorite animal

   14. Favorite color

   15. Favorite cartoon

   16. Favorite pastime

   17. Favorite hymn

   18. Brand of toothpaste you use

   19. Brand of soap you use

   20. Brand of shampoo you use

   21. School mascot

   22. Dream career

   23. Favorite book in the Bible

   24. Favorite hymn

3. Announce one of the following designated ending poses [facilitator can come up with more poses]:

• 1. Sit

  2. Stand on one leg

  3. Both hands up

  4. Pirate

  5. Statue of Liberty

  6. Hug yourself

  7. Arms crossed

  8. Sit cross-legged

  9. Sumo

  10. Kung-fu

  11. Wiping window

  12. Starfish

  13. Thinking Man

4. Have participants share their answer with the person in front of and behind them in their respective lines.

5. Then, the facilitators gives the signal to begin and each team reorganizes themselves in alphabetical order as quickly as possible. If the participants share the same answer, then those with the same answer line up youngest to oldest.

6. When a team is finished, everyone in the team poses as indicated by the facilitator.

7. Once the facilitator has verified that the team is in the correct order, the facilitator awards the team a point.

8. The facilitator announces another topic and teams must once again reorganize themselves in alphabetical order as quickly as possible.

9. Continue as time allows. The team with the most points at the end wins.

Variations

1. Have only one line. Participants must reorganize themselves in alphabetical order by the time limit given by the facilitator. Anyone not in line or in the right order faces a penalty.
