Setting up a turnitin assignment (V2)

Click Turn editing on first and add Turnitin Assignment from Add a resource or activity link:

Turnitin version 2 assignment choice

You can use most of the default settings. Please see below for the most important changes you might want to make:

settings for Turnitin V2 submission box

When opening up the 'Grade' section (click on the small triangle in front of 'Grade' in case it points to the right rather than downwards) you will see that nothing has changed from V1:

The following section now has settings for the assignment dates:

The following section is overall the same as in V1 except for the fact that the 24-hour processing delay only kicks in after 3 submissions (see 'Report Generation Speed):

The rubric manager can now be accessed from the settings menu during the setup process. You have 2 options in case you want to use a rubric:

    1. choose an already uploaded rubric from the drop-down list

    2. launch the rubric manager, which looks the same as it did in V1:

grade mark options: adding a rubric

The drop-down list in the rubric field will show all the rubrics already uploaded to your profile. If you want to upload/set up a new rubric, you will have to launch the Rubric Manager. Once the rubric has been uploaded or created you will still need to attach it to the submission box via the drop-down list in GradMark Options.

Please note: As long as there is no submission in the drop-box the only way to see the attached rubric is changing to student view via your profile (top right of the Moodle page).

For people who prefer instructional videos: How to attach a rubric

(Please note: the video refers to attaching a 'qualitative' rubric, which does not calculate the final score.)

The settings below 'GradeMark Options' are the same as for any activity in Moodle.
