Customising Moodle
You can customise your ‘My home’ page and course pages in Moodle:
Your ‘My home’ page is a "dashboard" page with links to all your courses.
If you want to adjust it to your requirements, start by clicking on the ‘Customise this page’ button:
If (for example) your course list does not show an 'eye' icon next to each course, you might wish to reset it to the 'default' course list by clicking on 'Reset page to default':
In the 'Course Overview (Enhanced) you can use the eye icon to hide courses which you do not need to access any longer:
You can also add blocks to your homepage and to your courses:
Go to the block which allows you to 'ADD A BLOCK' (normally in the right column at the bottom). Scroll down and select Courses from the ADD A BLOCK drop down list. The following example shows how to add an HTML block, which you can use to add links to external websites which might be relevant for the topic(s) you are teaching:
Add the 'Courses' block:
Choose for example HTML to add a block for external links:
Click on the little wheel, then choose Configure (see image on the right)
Give your block a title, and add content, for example links to external pages you frequently want to access:
There are lots of other options as well - if you don't know what a block can do for you can explore it - and if it doesn't do what you want, you can simply delete it.
