Course Overview
Moodle offers different options for how you will see the list of your courses on your homepage.
The default was - until the most recent update (June/September 2018) - ‘Course Overview’, which looked like this:
This has been changed to the following format:
You can change what you see via the tabs at the top. Please experiment to find the most useful view for your purposes. You can also add a picture for each course: Access the course, go to Administration - Edit settings - Upload an image to 'Course Summary Files'.
You can switch to ‘Course Overview Enhanced’ (which you might have had before). This can be organised to your needs:
1. On your home page, click on ‘Customise this page’:
Then, on the left-hand side, at the bottom, find ‘Add a block’, click on ‘Add …’:
From the list that opens, choose ‘Course overview on campus’:
This will add the ‘Course Overview (Enhanced)’ to the list of blocks on the left-hand side. The course overview enhanced has the ‘eye’ icon which can be used to hide old courses. The old courses can be made visible again in case they’re needed.
The Course Overview (Enhanced) can be moved to the centre part of the screen using the ‘move’ icon.
Then boxes with broken lines (placeholder) appear, where you can move blocks to, and you can move it to the top centre of your home page:
Lastly, delete the Course Overview which will still sit underneath the course overview enhanced. Use the cog wheel, it will show you a delete button.
